Made In Africa

There's this place I'm from.. It's quite heavenly. If you look beyond its flaws, you'll see.
MADE IN AFRICA
That's me.

So now that my sis and I are back to living in the same continent, country, let alone the same house, we go on dates lol. So whenever you see a date night post, it's my SISTERRR I'm going out with lol.
That being said, given that my sis is my first hubby, I gotta look presentable to be by her side :P

Recently, I've been rekindling my love for items I haven't worn in YEARS. This shirt was given to me by a designer I modeled it for, and that was 3 to 4 years ago. I had worn it a couple times, but today I decided to finally dress it up and give it that polished look.

The necklace I'm wearing was also gifted to me by the owner of the amazing accessory store "Behave", which also exists in Europe, as we have worked together repeatedly for the fashion magazine Elixir Dakar.

I know this may come as a shock to those who know me but I've recently learned to take off the rings my mommy made for me which I literally have been wearing EVERY DAY for the past 5+ years. I've been into statement rings and stacking those babies across my hand.

I bought this coat almost a year ago, and this turned out to be the very first time I got to wear it. It's just never cold enough around here.

These heels were gifted to me back in 2009 by a great friend and I only wore them twice so today was the third time. I'm going through all of my belongings and giving them a second life, as opposed to going on a crazy shopping spree; you know how dangerous that can be lol.

Living in the Abstract

Living in the Abstract only to achieve Concrete dreams.
- My life.

HELLO MY LOVES !
I am well aware of how neglected this blog has been and there are a million reasons why. I finally managed to buy myself a new camera lens to replace my faulty one that refused to take photos. So now... I have no excuse to not INVADE your screens with regular blog posts. Oh I hope you are ready for this lol.

So today I'm sharing with you, an outfit of which the main pieces (the crop top and skirt) are by a Young Senegalese designer that I am very fond of. I'm also finally wearing these heels from Amiclubwear that I bought back in May and never actually got to wear out up until now.

I find these heels to be so flattering on the foot. The ankle strap is super trendy at the moment.. We've all seen the heeled sandals EVERYONE now has in their closet. Well, I feel like this shoe is basically that, BUT with a super sexy (wooden) cutout platform. The coolest part about these shoes is they cost me less than $20. Can you believe that? Me neither, I still can't ;)

So yes, now let's talk about this super duper crop top and skater skirt. As I mentioned earlier, a young designer by the name of Diarra Bousso is behind it. I've been a fan of her collections from the day I stepped into her showroom here in Senegal. There wasn't one thing I wouldn't wear. So when I saw this gorgeous two piece set on her instagram, I knew I had to have it. Do not worry, she ships to the United States, the United Kingdom and France.

In case you're wondering, the ring is actually from MY personal store, which I will be telling you all about in due time *cue in "Don't you worry Child"* ;) Omg have I told you guys how much I've been obsessing over white nailpolish recently? Well, now you know! lol

Peep the Back Cleavage on this baby ! lol

Okay... now scroll down for all the clickable info (where appropriate) regarding all the pieces from this outfit.

Bulletproof in Baggy Jeans

I LOVE ME SOME BAGGY JEANS !
You probably do not know this about me but my soul is a tomboy lol. Having grown up obsessed with Hip Hop culture; the music and most importantly, THE DANCE, I have always loved large sweatpants, baggy jeans, Timberland boots, and SNEAKERS, omg yes SNEAKERS.

So for this Outfit of the Day post, I show you a lil different side of me. It's not that different to be honest, because the crop top and the wedge is something you'd see me wear pretty often.
Anyways, I picked up these drop-crotch baggy jeans with faux leather at a shopping centre in Senegal full of menswear. When I saw them I fell in love.

The zebra bralet was love at first sight. I love wearing white, and I love animal print. I also am so into crop tops, as you have probably already noticed.

I paired them with my Timberland boot-inspired wedges, because I thought they gave it a street-look while keeping it lady-like with the heel.

See you soon !! <3
Everything I'm wearing is from PRIMARK, except the jeans ;)
The yellow on my nails is by Barry M.
LOVE YOU GUYS !

Floral Summers

Hello my Loves !
If you are seeing this I'm guessing you came from my youtube channel? If not, then maybe googlePlus? Ha! I knew it had to be one of the two :) If you do keep up with me on any social network, thank you :) Please do interact with me though.. It's lonely out here! lol

So, you may have noticed but to me.. summertime is an excuse to wear dresses and skirts 6 days out of 7. It's the only time of the year when nobody will feel the need to ask you, "Are you not cold? How are you wearing that?" So I stumbled upon this gem of a dress last week, and had to have it. I barely own any floral printed clothing items.. this might actually be the first! I really am enjoying flirty, playful and youthful outfits at the moment. I like to think of myself as finding the balance between laidback/casual comfy and chic. Correct me if I'm wrong lol!

With me moving semi-permanently back to Senegal, I've had the opportunity to look through my closet and grab the items I've had been neglecting and rekindling my love for them. These heels, for example, are 3 years old and I hadn't worn them in over 2 years but finally wearing them all over again felt like getting a brand new pair of shoes.. oh the human brain and its weird tricks lol.

How would YOU wear this dress ?
I'd love to know :)

The Little White Dress

As long as there's black, white will always be second best.
My favorite colors to wear are BLACK, white, and red, but given the recent temperatures over here in Senegal, I find myself having to cower away from black as it absorbs heat like no other. So instead, I've been relying on lighter colors and airy clothing like this cute little white dress.

This flowy knee-length dress is super light, and day-time friendly. It's super comfortable and casual so I wanted to dress it up a little.. you know me ;) So I decided to go for red and gold accents because I love how the colors bounce off of each other.

& as always, make sure you go to the bottom of this post to see all the outfit details.

PLAYTIME

PLAYTIME, in a playsuit ;)
Hello Loves,
It's summertime, the bright colors and the patterns come out. Clothes get shorter, and errrrbody gets hotter ! lol. One of my favourite things to wear are playsuits/jumpsuits, specially because it's an easy way to look sexy while maintaining a sense of playful-ness. For those who are no strangers to my youtube channel, you have LIKELY already seen this outfit. Nevertheless, for those who haven't, I think this deserves a blog post.

These have got to be one of my favourite summer shoes I own. They are not only chunky/almost-wedge heels, but they are also color-block shoes, and that criss-cross at the front adds that extra touch of fun.

Stripes are forever going to be IN. I don't care what season it is. Stripes are the simplest patterns out there, and they make this playsuit a lil more unformal.

The beige enveloppe clutch... my little way of adding shape to the outfit. I like my geometry, don't judge me ;)

Summer Dates

Summer Dates

If you've been looking for a summer-friendly date night outfit, I've got just what you are looking for.
Why not try a bright colored dress? Something along the lines of yellow, or.. more like, ORANGE.
When I saw this dress, I thought instantly, how simple & chic! Because it is summertime, allow your outfit to be PLAYFUL,  and don't be afraid to add some florals (on your high heeled sandals for example). What that pattern does is complement the dress and really plays into the current season. Tie the outfit together with a little black handbag, and a simple geometric necklace. When it comes to nailpolish, your outfit can be complemented with a variety of colors, so basically, any of the colors you can find on the dress or the heels would look good. Also, nude lipstick will fit right in to the effortless summer look.

The items displayed are as follows:

Purple Rain

Bright lights, big dreams/ Nice night, or so it seems.
- J. Cole in "Purple Rain"

FYI, that isn't my underwear, I had to Photoshop the color of my booty shorts lol :)

This post is dedicated to the third outfit in my Valentine's Day Lookbook posted on Youtube.
Fancy night out? Dinner date perhaps?
Well, either way, this outfit may be for you.

The Hubby bought me a dress for Christmas and I haven't had the opportunity to wear it yet on its own so here it is ! Purple is one of those colors that easily complements all skin tones.

I didn't want my uniform to be entirely uniform in color, so I went for leopard print wedges in addition to my golden accessories.

I love the shape of this clutch. It's something fun to look at. This was actually bought for my high school graduation in 2008, and I love that I left for university, came home almost 5 years later, and it's still there! Thanks MOMMY ! :)

Let me know if you would Rock this outfit :)
